Hired in 2012, Momentum PR was asked to create the first-ever year-long communications campaign focused on raising the awareness of GEN’s mission, its reputation and all of its programs, but most especially its annual We Are Girls statewide conference.
In addition to landing earned media coverage for GEN throughout the entire year, Momentum Public Relations has worked with GEN’s expanding staff on strategic planning, key message development, media training, and creating newsworthy media events and press conferences. Soon after working together, they told us: “Outstanding! This is the most press we’ve ever had.”
In 2013 and 2015, Momentum Public Relations worked with GEN to create communication campaigns centered on results from GEN’s own national opinion-based surveys about the importance of role models and how parents can support teens and also tween and teen opinions on bullying, body image and pressures of being a girl. The survey results were announced a few weeks ahead of GEN’s signature event, the statewide We Are Girls conference. This strategic decision let GEN effectively amplify its pre-We Are Girls earned media coverage and online social buzz, helping to secure the highest conference attendance to date.
In 2015, we supported the expansion of the We Are Girls statewide conference to include events held in both Austin and Houston.
